Ziko approached Social Times with a vision to modernize the traditional Egyptian street food experience. The core challenge was to address the common consumer "fear" associated with the quality and cleanliness of street carts, while maintaining the beloved local flavors. Our approach was to create a "half English, half Egyptian" brand character that blends Western standards of quality and detail with authentic, nostalgic oriental vibes. We positioned the brand as "One of Our Own"—a proud lover of local culture that uses energetic colors and fun, slangy language to connect with a youthful, flavor-seeking audience.
We delivered a comprehensive brand ecosystem rooted in a "Vibrant Retro" aesthetic, featuring a custom logo inspired by the anatomy of a chili pepper and a subliminal smiley face to reflect a happy dining experience. The visual identity was extended across a multi-channel strategy, including high-impact social media assets using the authentic "Ali Abwa" messaging and unique "Newspaper-style" packaging that features interactive crossword puzzles. From the checkered vintage diner flooring to the neon "Zizi" quality ambassador signage, every touchpoint was designed to cement Ziko’s place as a trusted expert in nostalgic Egyptian cuisine.
